Asia is a huge continent and has many wonderful places for a beach holiday, from timeless locations to manmade wonders. Here are some of the top beach destinations in Asia.
The Maldives has around 1,200 islands, most of which have idyllic white sandy beaches. Set in the Indian Ocean, the islands’ clear waters are a magnet for divers. Some of the world’s most luxurious hotels are here, each with its own private island.
Whatever kind of beach you’re looking for, Thailand has it: the country has 3,000 miles of tropical coastline. Popular Thai beach destinations are Hua Hin, Thailand’s first beach resort, and Phuket, the country’s largest island.
The Indonesian island of Bali is one of the most popular destinations in the world. The lush, volcanic island is home to some busy resorts as well as quiet, unspoilt beaches to explore. Bali is also a great place for diving and snorkelling.
With more than 300 miles of Arabian Sea coast, the southern Indian region of Kerala is a beautiful beach destination. The Kerala coast offers all kinds of accommodation, from luxury to home stays, and the region is famous for its pristine backwaters and elegant houseboats.
Vietnam has more than 2,000 miles of coastline and a huge diversity of great beaches. Some of the best include the white sands of Phu Quoc, the island beaches of Halong Bay and the popular resort of Nha Trang.
