How To Find The Best Cruise Deals In 2016

P&O Cruise LinerThe Best Cruise Deals This Year

Dreaming of sailing into the sunset this summer? Today we take a look at some of the top cruises available and sharing tips for finding the best deal.

A cruise is an ideal holiday for many, as it offers luxury accommodation and the chance to take in many new places, rather than basing yourself in one location. Plus, for many sailing is also often a more appealing prospect than a crowded airport; you can be sat on board with a glass of champagne, instead of jostling for an aeroplane seat at Heathrow and worrying about lost baggage! If you’re thinking of taking a cruise this summer, we will help you to find the best deal.

Where To Look?

There are many websites which will help you to find the best deal for a cruise. Try Cruise Deals, for example, which allows you to search available voyages by destination, duration and date. This website compares offers from all of the major operators.

You can also browse the websites of cruise companies themselves – try the P&O Cruises website. They have a range of voyages on offer, from short trips to more exotic international adventures on the high seas. All major cruise companies have informative websites, offering more information on vessels as well as destinations.

Finally, it’s also a good idea to search the websites of holiday operators such as Thomas Cook, who offer a wide range of cruises.

Which Cruise?

There are a now a wider range of cruises available than ever before. These range from short weekend trips, to longer voyages of several weeks – or even months! P&O, for example, offer weekend trips to pretty Bruges, where you can sample the famous Belgian chocolate and wander the cobbled streets.

European cruises are perhaps the classic option. Take a cruise around the Mediterranean, or for something different why not try Northern Europe? A cruise in the Norwegian Fjords is the trip of a lifetime! If you want a luxury cruise, then take a look at Cunard line who offer fine dining, cocktails and high-end cabins. Or for something further afield, why not cruise the Caribbean? Wake up to a different beach every day!

Getting The Best Deal

Perhaps the best tip of all is this: wait until the last minute to book your cruise. The later you leave it to book, the cheaper the cruise is likely to cost. Of course there is a bit of gambling involved here, as you don’t want anything to sell out before you get a chance to book. We advise booking 1 or 2 months before you sail in order to grab cabins when prices drop.

Also consider the time of year. A cruise outside of peak holiday season will always be cheaper. Try September once the school holidays are over, or even October – the south of Europe will still have more than enough sun. If you fancy an earlier holiday, then May or June are also brilliant months to sail – especially if you find the heat of midsummer hard to handle. Just watch out for the May bank holiday and school half-term, as prices will soar around this time.

Wherever you choose to cruise this year. remember to book your cruise travel insurance before you embark on your adventure!
