4. Visit The Royals
For royalists, no trip to London would be complete without a visit to Buckingham Palace – the official London residence of the Queen. Observe the changing of the guard, or for a closer insight into the lives of the royal family, why not take a guided tour of the palace? From July to October, 19 state rooms are open to the public, along with free audio tours. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the Queen or one of her relatives!
5. Birds-Eye View
A birds-eye view of the city really helps you appreciate the scale and style of London. Luckily there are lots of opportunities to view the city from above. Take a trip on The London Eye on the South Bank for great views over the river and Westminster, or head to the newly built The Shard to enjoy panoramic views over the city while sipping on a glass of wine or eating a tasty lunch.
6. Enjoy The River
The iconic River Thames is around 10,000 years old and provides the perfect backdrop to many of the city’s attractions. You also have the option of taking a sightseeing riverboat tour, or even an evening dining cruise which offers entertainment and fantastic views of London by night.

Parks are not always the first thing that spring to mind when you think about a major city. However, London is actually the greenest major city in Europe with 35,000 acres of parks, woodlands and gardens for the public to enjoy. The capital is home to eight Royal Parks, including Richmond Park with its wild deer population, and Hampstead Heath with its amazing views over the city.
