Bali Is Not Just For Honeymooners

Adventure In Bali

Overview: Bali is known for being an idyllic honeymoon resort, but there’s more to it than meets the eye…

Bali is an ideal resort for honeymooners. Boasting a range of exotic beaches and luxury hotels, it’s not difficult to understand why newlyweds flock here for a slice of paradise. If you’re planning a honeymoon here, then check out some of the most romantic hotels on the island. The Alila Manggis is a popular choice with lovers, offering private pools and fine dining. Or try the Komaneka at Tanggayuda for first-class accommodation nestled in private tropical gardens.

However, if you’re not on your honeymoon then Bali is a destination with something to offer everyone – from white water rafting, diving to luxury spas and fine dining. Before you head to Bali, make sure you take out our worldwide travel insurance.

If you like adventure more than sunbathing, then the island has a range of exciting activities on offer. If white water rafting floats your boat, then head to Bali Adventure Rafting where you can book an exhilarating ride down the stunning Ayung River. If that’s not enough excitement, then try jumping off of Mahana Point Cliff Jump – a popular destination with tourists keen to get a social-media worthy clip of them plummeting into the clear sea 13 metres below. If that’s still not enough adventure, you can go to visit the ominously-named Shark Cave, which is possible for experienced divers to explore.

If diving’s your thing, you’ll be spoilt for choice in Bali. There are a wide range of diving centres around the island, but the best spot is Menjangan Island in the North West. This area forms a Marine National Park which is possible for both divers and snorkelers to explore. There are an amazing range of corals to view, as well as sea cucumbers and starfish galore.

If your idea of the perfect holiday is a little more relaxing, then why not check in to one of Bali’s many spas? The island is renowned for its spa resorts and ethos of wellness.

For a spa with a view, visit the Karma Spa at Karma Kandra, which boasts elevated views over the Indian Ocean. Let the sounds of the sea lull you to sleep as you enjoy a full-body massage. This place is also famous for its celebrity spa facials, which are tailored for each client. Alternatively, try the Spa Alila at Alila Soori – one of the best looking spas on the island. It’s a modernist sanctuary crafted from local volcanic stone, boasting a range of luxurious sunken baths and rain showers.

Bali for Foodies

If all that relaxing makes you hungry, then you’ll be pleased to hear that Bali is also a paradise for foodies. If you’re in Seminyak, head to Mamasan Restaurant. This trendy restaurant boasts vintage, colonial-style interiors and has an impressive drinks menu. However, the food is just as good – the menu is a fusion of South-East Asian styles including Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese food. Try the Thai salmon and mango salad to start, then follow up with the Sichuanese fried cumin lamb. Delicious and surprisingly affordable!

As you can see, Bali is certainly not just for honeymooners, so book your tickets for an adventure of a lifetime. Happy holidays!
