Survey shows Britons as lazy travellers
Britons have been unveiled as some of the laziest holidaymakers in the world, news which comes from a survey carried out by a travel expert.
It comes after Expedia published the results of their Flip Flop Report, which suggests that travellers were more than happy to lie back and soak up the sunshine as long as they have got their foreign currency, passports, annual travel insurance policies and other essential aspects sorted.
As part of the survey, Expedia quizzed 11,165 adults from all over the world on their attitudes and views of a holiday. Those included had either been on a beach holiday in the past year or had booked to go on one in the next 12 months.
While Britons will be seen tanning for long durations, travellers from countries such as Brazil, Germany and Mexico are the complete opposite and love nothing more than trying out water sports, going on excursions and exploring the local area.
Of the Britons included, 19 per cent said that they could not be bothered to go surfing, try out any water sports or go for a dip in the sea, while just 13 per cent stated they were excited about going out partying while on their holidays. The survey also revealed that 92 per cent of Britons aim to find a quieter destination when booking their getaways.
Mexicans among the most lively
According to the survey, only travellers from Japan and Thailand are less active during their holidays. Indian, Mexican and Malaysian holidaymakers take the crown for the most active, followed swiftly by visitors from Australia, Germany, Canada, New Zealand and Spain.
If you want to buck the trend on your holidays and like to make the most of your time in the sunshine by enjoying a host of activities, the range of over 70s travel insurance packages from Avanti can offer all the protection you could need, with many sports and activities covered as standard.
