5 Great Easter Getaways
Incredible Destinations to Please the Entire Family
With the Easter holidays fast approaching, it’s time to decide where to head off to on a well-deserved break.
As we move from winter into spring, a lot of people think about putting the colder months firmly behind them with a holiday. If that sounds like you, then listen up! There are plenty of brilliant destinations to jet off to this spring. With the Easter holidays rapidly approaching too, there’s never been a better opportunity for the whole family to get away. So where should you head to? Well, we’ve picked five of the hottest Easter getaways for you to choose from.
It’s considered the greatest European city by many, and it’s easy to see why Rome captivates so many tourists. Home to some of the world’s most famous landmarks like the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain, it’s a real feast for the eyes. Head to the Vatican to see some incredible art and architecture, and enjoy some authentic Italian cuisine at L’Archetto. As for somewhere to stay, we recommend the Morgana Hotel, which is a stone’s throw from the Termini rail station.
If you want a vibrant, exciting trip, then head to Marrakesh. Morocco’s capital is home to bustling markets, stunning architecture and interesting local characters (you’re sure to spot a snake charmer or two!). Brush up on your history by visiting the awe-inspiring Saadian Tombs and Museum of Moroccan Arts, before doing some shopping at the Jardin Majorelle. The Fellah Hotel is a great place to stay – the impressive pool will be a hit with the kids.
One of the most beautiful regions in Italy, Tuscany has plenty to offer tourists. If you’re a bit of a culture vulture, then a visit to Michelangelo’s David in Florence is essential. Another world-famous sight is the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a must for almost every traveller’s bucket list. Sample some local cuisine at a busy food market for the authentic local experience. The Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa is a great all-round resort set in the stunning scenery of the Serchio Valley.
Goa is famed for its beaches and is rated by many as the most beautiful places on the planet. It’s also home to some incredible temples – the Maruti Temple is one of our favourites. If you’re looking for somewhere a little different to stay, then try the Yab Yum Resort. Here you’ll stay in thatched domed huts, take part in yoga classes and of course, venture out on a tuk-tuk trip.
Colorado Springs, America
Last, but by no means least, is the American city of Colorado Springs. With saloon lined streets and stunning mountains, it’s perfect for discovering your inner cowboy or cowgirl. Colorado Springs is home to the Garden of the Gods, a stunning park full of incredible scenery. There’s the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo too, perfect for adults and kids alike. Stay at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort and either take advantage of the tennis and golf facilities or just lounge by the pool and take in the view.
