Get your boarding cards ready, WOW Air could be flying you from Edinburgh to popular North American destinations such as Boston and Toronto, starts July 2016.
Early spring is a great time in the holiday industry, especially when airlines announce their new routes for the summer, which often means greater choice for holidaymakers. WOW Air are hitting the headlines this time round with the announcement of new seasonal flights from Edinburgh, connecting to the USA and Canada. WOW Air have already had success with routes from London and Bristol, and hope their Scottish hub (their 3rd UK departure point) will follow suit.
More Choice For Tourists
Sometimes sourcing things like accommodation and travel insurance is the easy part of booking a holiday, but when it comes to flights it can be trickier to find the best times, days, and departing/arriving airports. WOW Air’s new flight schedules, which run from July to October, offer the chance to visit Iceland and several North American destinations. You could check out Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, explore the CN Tower in Toronto, or visit the world famous U.S. Capitol buildings in Washington D.C. Boston, Montreal, and Los Angeles are also available.
WOW Air will use Edinburgh Airport as a UK departure point with customers departing for the airline’s regional hub which is located in Reykjavik, Iceland. Flights will leave twice a week during the season, with passengers having the option of continuing on to North America. The Edinburgh to Iceland flights will be operated on A320 aircraft, while single class A321 and A330-300 taking over for the Iceland – North America routes.
Passengers can expect a standard seat offering a 30 inch pitch, with seat upgrades to 35 inches available for an additional charge.
With this announcement WOW Air have reached the 29 destination mark with Edinburgh following hot on the heels of Canadian and Californian routes which first accepted passengers late 2015. These expansion plans are all part of plans to double the airlines passenger capacity to 1.9 million in 2016.
