Europe Travel Awards voting gets underway
Voting for the European Travel Awards is well underway, with members of the industry and consumers alike being encouraged to cast their ballots ahead of the upcoming deadline for the World Travel Awards Europe Gala Ceremony.
The accolades, considered the most prestigious in the global travel sector, will be given out on August 2nd at a red-carpet event taking place at Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso in Athens, Greece, but voting is set to close on June 23rd.
World Travel Awards president Graham Cooke was among those urging participants to cast their ballots before it is too late.
“August will be a busy month for World Travel Awards, with the first port of call scheduled for Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso for the Europe Gala Ceremony,” he said.
“I have been in close contact with the team there and I know they are as excited as we are that World Travel Awards is visiting the destination for the first time.
“Ballot boxes will close in just two weeks, so it is vital you register now to make your opinion heard at the event on August 2nd.”
Travel consumers will find the awards are well worth paying attention to as they highlight the organisations that have gone above and beyond what is expected for passengers and customers.
Anyone is eligible to register and cast their vote, which they can do via the official website.
Well-known and much-loved firms participating this year include British Airways, which is angling for seven awards including Europe’s Leading Airline 2014; Monarch Airlines which is hoping for success in the Europe’s Leading Low-Cost Airline 2014 category; and Spain’s Vueling Airlines which has been nominated for Europe’s Leading Regional Airline 2014.
The World Travel Awards is currently embarking on a global tour celebrating its 21st anniversary.
