British Airways releases new app
Leading airline British Airways has responded to a rise in people booking flights with their smartphones by releasing a brand new flight booking application, which it hopes will deliver personalised, relevant and time sensitive travel information at the touch of a button or the tap of a screen.
According to the company, the amount of passengers using their smartphones to book flights has increased by a whopping 290 per cent in just two years, showing there is definitely a demand for software that allows them to do this quickly and easily.
The general idea is that the application allows the user to manage every aspect of their booking quickly and easily, streamlining the travel process and allowing someone to access important information whenever they like and wherever they are.
While this includes plenty of essential and expected data such as flight numbers, the ability to choose seats and check in online, there are also a number of useful extras that travellers may consider thoughtful.
For example, app users will be able to access the wi-fi passwords for BA’s 60 dedicated lounges across the world, and there will be a calendar function that allows for easy planning.
Kevin McQuillan, head of ba.com, said: “This latest app is another way we are making travel easier by delivering the latest and most relevant information to our customers at the tap of a finger.
“At British Airways, we have a long history of innovating and introducing the latest technology to help our customers.”
The airline recently unveiled a £5 billion investment that will allow it to purchase new aircraft with smarter cabins, build luxury lounges in airports and develop new technologies to make the experience of flying more comfortable.
