America’s Best Beach Resorts
Where to Spend Your Next US Holiday if You’re a Beach Lover
America is home to some of the best beaches in the world, so where should you stay to make the most of them?
America is famed for its diverse and stunning coastline. From New England to Florida, it’s a country that’s home to some incredible resorts. Whether you like to relax laying on the beach or occupy yourself with a new hobby, there’s guaranteed to be one that’s perfect for you. So if you’re planning a trip across the pond, here’s the lowdown on the best resorts that the country has to offer.
Inn by the Sea, Portland
Arguably the best resort in Portland, Inn by the Sea has been a favourite of tourists for many years. It’s small compared to some of the other resorts on our list, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Cosy cottages and unspoilt scenery allow you to reconnect with nature. It also welcomes pets – perfect if you’re an animal lover.
Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka’upulehu, Hawaii
Although separate from the mainland, Hawaii is one of America’s biggest tourist destinations. The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka’upulehu is one of the finest hotels on the island. For those who want to go all out, villas are available. This coupled with a spectacular pool carved out of lava rock and world-class spa facilities which set it apart from its competitors.
The Nantucket Hotel & Resort, Nantucket
The Nantucket Hotel & Resort is located on the tiny island of Nantucket, just off of the coast of Massachusetts. Named as one of the top US hotels in the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards, its reputation precedes it. The hotel is home to a fantastic restaurant and leisure facilities, as well as being close to the harbour, shops and bustling downtown area. If we could give you one piece of advice, it would be to book The Point Suite. Trust us, the views are incredible!
The Breakers, Palm Beach
If location is important to you, then you can’t get much better than The Breakers. Situated on Palm Beach in Florida, this resort is a stone’s throw away from the ocean. Spread out across five acres, it has a golf course, swimming pool, gym and scuba diving facilities – making it perfect for active travellers. It’s worth paying a little bit more for one of the big, spacious ocean view suites to make the most out of your stay.
The Horsehoe Bay Resort, Texas
Last but not least is the Horseshoe Bay Resort. Guests can choose to stay in the main hotel building or in one of the luxurious waterfront condos. It’s also one of the country’s top tennis resorts, with clay, hard and synthetic grass surfaces. After you’ve served up a few aces, you can head down to the Yacht Club restaurant for a delicious meal. There’s also a small shopping complex for those who want to pick up a few souvenirs – made easier by the fact that chip and pin is now available in the US!
Don’t forget your insurance!
No matter which resort you go to though, it’s important to get yourself covered for your trip by organising some travel insurance. Once you’ve taken out a policy, you’ll be free to relax and enjoy your holiday with complete peace of mind.
Where will you choose to go?
Once you’ve chosen a hotel, booked your flights (not before checking which airline provides the best food!) and sorted out your insurance, there’s nothing left for you to do except wait! If you’re itching to get away, the resorts we’ve talked about all offer festive packages. Whether you’re heading off in winter or summer, though, you’re guaranteed to have a great time.
